Luna Moth Seed Bead Bowl

My seed bead bowls are inspired by the prayer bowls made by the Huichol Indians of the Sierra Madres in Mexico. A gourd is cut in half, cleaned, and sanded. Each bead is set one at a time by hand into a thin layer of Cera Campeche, which consists of beeswax mixed with tree pitch. My designs are original and composed as I work. The Luna Moth bowl depicts the life cycle of the Luna Moth.
